Days out with my mum are always my favourite. We try to organise a day out just the two of us every other month or so for a good catch up and some quality time together.
Last Saturday mum booked us an afternoon tea aboard the Yacht Hotel in London and it was so much fun! The name says it all really; it’s a superyacht that is permanently docked to be a stunning hotel. It was something a bit different with great views and in a great location to carry on our day afterwards…
So after meeting at Fenchurch Street we got the DLR line to Custom House and from there it is just a 4 min walk from the station, it is located literally right outside the Excel Centre.
The inside décor is stunning, as you step out of the shiny gold lift you are greeted by this beautiful chandelier…
We had a quick drink in the main bar as we were a bit early before being seated for our tea.
We had a great seat by the window that overlooked the O2 and Emirates cable car line. We chose the traditional tea menu and a bottle of Rose, it was all delicious!
Although we tried our hardest our bellies simply could not finish all our cakes, so they kindly boxed them up for us to take home. From there we walked to the Emirates Cable car and rode up to the O2, the views were incredible and it’s a great way of getting around! And a lot less busy than the tubes which is always a bonus.
Mum checking out the view…
After having a stroll around and listening to the live music outside the O2 we jumped on the tube to Stratford to have a quick shop in Westfield to finish our girlie day off. I would recommend this to anybody who loves an afternoon tea and fancies a day out in London! Also keep your eye out on discount websites such a Wowcher as they often have 2 for 1 deals on.
Thank you Mum for a lovely day out, where to next?
