I recently finished reading Jo Malone’s Autobiography (buy it here) and thought it was amazing! It was such an interesting read as it felt as though I was her friend and she was telling me her story personally. She pours everything into this book sharing success stories as well as the mistakes she made along the way in her business, plus the hard times she encountered in her personal life. Her passion is clear throughout the book, which gives off the encouraging feeling that anyone can achieve anything they put their mind to if they work hard enough and have a genuine interest and love for what they are trying to achieve.
I also learnt that Jo Malone actually resigned from ‘Jo Malone London’ in 2006 and in 2011 launched a new company ‘Jo Loves’. This is probably a well known fact and I am just behind the times! However her book includes a scented page of her popular Jo Loves fragrance ‘Pomelo’, such a great touch as I could not open or close the book without smelling it… I got some weird looks on the train but it smelt so good I couldn’t help myself!
So with my birthday only a few weeks away I added the Pomelo perfume to my birthday list and was lucky enough to receive it from Adrian. I cannot find the words to describe the smell as I don’t think I would do it any justice. But I will confirm that whenever I wear it I always receive compliments and requests of what I am wearing. It is such a unique, fresh, citrus scent that it makes me smile every time I wear it. I believe every girl needs this little bottle of luxury in their life and I don’t want to ever be without it.
