Master Bedroom Makeover

The main bedroom was actually the first room I had ever decorated myself, which was almost 2 years ago now! I found a photo last week of what it used to look like so thought I would share the before and after snaps with you.

The walls were all bright white with cream coloured carpet and was pretty bare and basic. The only furniture we kept was the wooden bed frame and bedside tables. I just sanded them down and painted them a lighter shade of cream as they were more of a yellowy shade before. I then painted all the walls in Farrow & Ball shade “Wimborne White” apart from the chimney breast and the wall behind the bed. I painted the Chimney breast in Farrow & Ball ‘Cornforth White”. With help from my dad we wallpapered the wall behind the bed with Laura Ashley paper (here) We then got some new wardrobes from ikea, which luckily fit in the spaces perfectly! We also kept the original curtains I just added some tie backs to tidy them up! Finally we got some new carpet from Carpet right and added a few finishing touches, new bedding & candles etc…

I still absolutely love this room as it is so bright, airy and calming! We had a new TV for the room but we actually decided not to have it fitted in the end as we like that once your in there you can totally switch off and chill out. So I am still on the look out for the perfect photo to hang on the fireplace!
